Privacy Policy

Effective July 7, 2026

The short version: Recoup Radar runs on your device. It reads the text of pages you visit to spot money deadlines, and by default it does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data. The one exception is email reminders, an optional Pro feature you turn on: if you do, your email address and the deadlines you sync are sent to our reminder service so we can email you before a deadline. That's it — we never sell or share your data.

Recoup Radar (“the extension,” “we,” “us”) is a browser extension operated by VISMU LLC. This policy explains what the extension does and does not do with your information. Questions? Email mra454@gmail.com.

What Recoup Radar does

Recoup Radar detects money deadlines — return windows, free-trial ends, subscription renewals, and bills — on the pages you visit. To do this, it reads the visible text of the current page locally, inside your browser. This analysis happens on your device; the page contents are not sent to us or to anyone else.

Information stored on your device

The only information the extension keeps is:

The deadlines you choose to save (such as a merchant name, a date, an amount, and a link back to the page), and
Your settings (such as which sites are enabled).

This is stored using your browser's local storage (chrome.storage.local) and stays on your device. Nothing is stored unless a deadline is found and saved. The full text of the pages you visit is never stored.

Information we do not collect

No account, sign-up, or login.
No browsing history, and no record of pages where no deadline was found.
No analytics, tracking pixels, or advertising.
We never sell or rent your data.
No data leaves your device at all, unless you turn on email reminders (below).

Permissions, and why each is needed

Reading the current page (active tab / scripting, and supported-site access) — to scan page text for a deadline. Only supported sites are read automatically; all other sites are read only if you explicitly turn on “scan every site.”
Storage — to save your deadlines and settings on your device.
Alarms — to schedule reminders ahead of each deadline.
Notifications — to show you those reminders.
Favicons — to display a site's icon on a saved deadline, served locally by your browser (no external request).

Sensitive sites

For sensitive subscriptions (for example, adult-content platforms), the extension neutralizes the details: the real site name and address are never stored, synced, or shown. A saved item from such a site appears only as a generic “Subscription.”

How your data is stored and shared

Your saved deadlines and settings are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. Unless you turn on email reminders (below), they are never transmitted to us or to any server. We never share, sell, or rent your information to anyone.

Email reminders (Pro)

Email reminders are an optional Pro feature, and are off unless you turn them on. If you enter your email and enable them:

What is sent: your email address and the active deadlines you're tracking (each one's date, label, merchant, amount, and type). Sensitive/private subscriptions stay neutralized — the real site name is never sent.
Where it goes: our reminder service, which runs on Cloudflare (a Worker and database) and uses Resend to deliver the emails.
What it's used for: only to email you before a deadline. We never use it for anything else, and never sell or share it.
Confirmation: we email a one-time confirmation link and only send reminders to an address that has confirmed, so no one can sign up an address they don't control.
Turning it off: switch off email reminders in the extension's settings — that deletes your email and synced deadlines from our reminder service. You can also email mra454@gmail.com to have them deleted.

We never read or access your email inbox. "Email reminders" means we send mail to the address you give us — nothing more.

Keeping and deleting your data

Use “Clear all” in the extension to delete every saved deadline.
Use “Delete all local data” in Settings to remove all saved deadlines and settings.
Uninstalling the extension removes all of its local data from your device.

Children

Recoup Radar is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Google API Limited Use

Recoup Radar's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and post the new version here.
